Loving my return to Rochester with the Philharmonic this week with Maestro Christopher Seaman for Mozart: Piano Concerto No. 22 in Eb Major, K. 482. What an incredible collaborator he is, and what a revelation is his Brahms: Symphony #4; what an astonishing instrument the Phil, and such a great hall the Kodak.
Also had the chance to perform live on the radio on my dear friend, Julia Figueras’ performance program at WXXI, Backstage Pass this morning, a setlist of favorite songs and arrangements from this past summer; rather cathartic for various reasons, I must say.
Julia’s had a wonderful donation of a 6′ Boardman & Gray (appropriately enough, a New York state piano builder of old, from Albany), so there’s character and quirkiness to the sound, eloquently invoked and captured by WXXI engineer, Andrew Croucher.
Thanks and love to all my supportive Rochester friends.
